The first lesson

My first AI was a yellow toy van called George.

Voice-controlled, said the box. I would announce “George, left!” and George would roll forward, turn right, or stop entirely. My mother and I laughed until we couldn't breathe.

Forty years later I run a firm built on what George taught me: technology is at its best when it makes us more human.

“The research engine is AI-native. The judgement is mine.”

I'm Martin Uetz. I started at sixteen as an apprentice at HP in Widen, Switzerland, and spent 26 years in channel sales at HP, Fujitsu and Cisco.

On 31 December 2016 a reorganisation ended that chapter. Best thing that ever happened to me.

Since then I have worked as an operator and co-founder across online education, food and health technology. humAIne brings the threads together: capital, operating experience and an AI-native process that gives one partner the reach of a full research desk.

Every position starts with the same discipline: screen broadly, research deeply, then act only when the case survives scrutiny. No committees. No outsourced thinking.

Away from the screens: Swiss-British, married to an Icelander, two grown sons, and a golf game that has travelled through more than a hundred courses. Summers are for Iceland.

How the work gets done

One desk. Three disciplines.

The operating model is deliberately concentrated: use AI for leverage, experience for judgement and public work for accountability.

01

Research before rhetoric

Every case starts with evidence, moves through a structured research process and ends in a position that can be defended.

02

AI-native, human accountable

Machines expand the research surface. Martin makes the judgement, owns the conclusion and stays accountable for the work.

03

Conviction becomes action

The point is not a clever report. It is a clearer capital decision, a stronger operating plan or a credible case for change.

Ideas that Change the Game

Start with the evidence.

The best introduction to humAIne is the work itself: dated, specific and open to scrutiny.
